DUNES CITY ROAD COMMISSION

REGULAR MEETING

December 15, 2008 , 6:30 PM

A.                 Call to Order and Roll Call  

The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairperson Petersdorf.  Patty Pennel called the Roll.  

Present:         Mr. Petersdorf, Bill Connell, David Persons, George McKenzie, Keith Herring, Linda Lauck, Lee Riechel (Planning Dept Liaison to Roads) and Patty Pennel were present.

B.         Approval of Minutes November 17, 2008  

Action            No Actions

            Commissioner Bill made a motion to approve the November 17th 2008   minutes. Commissioner George seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.  

C.           Citizen Input

D.           Correspondence              

               None  

E.            Unfinished/Old Business  

               a. Keith Herring reported that the aprons on the Grant's property have been completed and approved.  

               b. Keith Herring reported that Peninsula Road was measured and the City Road ends where the pavement ends. This was in answer to Bruce Hubert's question at the October 20th Roads Commission Meeting regarding the water system at the bottom of the road.

            At this time Chairperson Petersdorf wanted to thank all the members of the Road Commission for their service and dedication to the City of Dunes City. At this time he presented appreciation certificates to all the Roads Commission members.

11/21 Ran Roads and trimmed limbs on Ocean Blvd

12/5 Ran Roads

12/8 Ran Roads and checked with the Grants on the new driveway apron

12/12 Ran Roads  

Motion was made to approve the Road Inspector Report. Unanimously approved and carried. 

Patty Pennel, Road Secretary  

Patty reported that she was unable to send Judy Bedsole copies of the minutes as per the Road Commission's request. The City Recorder (Amy Graham) informed her that Judy and anyone else wanting information would need to fill out an information request form and pay a fee to have copies made. Citizen Joanne Hickey (former Dunes City Recorder) asked to speak on the subject. She said that she wrote the original city information request resolution and wanted me to know that it was intended for only those requests that took up a lot of staff time to do research, etc. She asked Patty to please review the Resolution about the Information Requests.  

Bill Connell, Road Commissioner  

Bill told the Road Commission that he would not be seeking another term as a volunteer for the Road Commission. He said that "now is the time to give another volunteer the opportunity to get to know the "ins and outs" of our beautiful city. The Commission members thanked him for all his dedication and time to the City of Dunes City.  

Linda Lauck, Road Commissioner  

No report, but wanted to thank Chair Petersdorf again for all his dedication and hard work with the City of Dunes City.

Dave wanted the Committee to know that he would not be seeking another volunteer term. The Roads Commission thanked him for all his dedicated service and time to the City of Dunes City.

Mr. Petersdorf, Road Chairperson  

No report, but wanted to thank the entire Road Commission for their dedication and service. He said that "it's been a wonderful time" and he thought they had the best work parties to be found anywhere, and he will miss those times.
